FASHION ARTIST .
Ntare Edwin, a multi-disciplinary artist born in Kampala, Uganda in 2000, is making waves in the creative arts scene. Raised and educated in Kampala, Edwin is currently working as a freelance artist, collaborating with emerging artisans, fashion brands, and designers to challenge stereotypes about creative arts in Africa.Edwin was a key participant in our collaborative project “Cultural Modernity and its Influence on Cultural Heritage Protection,” which focused on Karamoja and culminated in the EPeYoNoN exhibition at our studio in January 2024. This project allowed him to experiment with various materials creating astonishing works that caught many people’s attention.
He is also the visionary behind MOTLEY MINDS (@motleyminds), a burgeoning fashion brand dedicated to upcycling and reusing denim in combination with other fabrics like leather. Edwin believes in the beauty of diversity and the power of community built on our unique strengths. He is currently working on new ideas for his upcoming fashion and art collections.
